Research and Calibration Division
This division is responsible for coordinating all activities and programs concerning the technical requirements of the Department’s quality systems. This Section comprises of two sections i.e. Research & Instrumentation Section and Calibration Section.
Research and Instrumentation Section
The main function of this section is to enhance the capacity and capability of the testing services of the Department by:
Research in method development work as well as collaborative studies with other laboratories of the Department using state-of-the-art instrumentation such as High Performance Liquid Chromatograph Triple Quadrupole Mass Spectrometer (LC-MS/MS), Capillary Electrophoresis (CE), Gas Chromatograph-Mass Spectrometer (GC-MS) and Gas Chromatograph- Micro Electron Capture Detector (GC-µECD).
Providing specialized analytical services using advanced scientific instruments.
Trouble-shooting analytical problems.
The main function of this section is to plan and coordinate programs to comply with the technical requirements of ISO/IEC 17025 standard for a measurement system that ensures results of analyses are accurate and reliable.
Calibration programs for measuring equipment such as ovens, chillers, furnaces, incubators and balances are carried out for all laboratories of the Department.
