Division's Function
Proficiency Testing (PT), also known as Inter-Laboratory Comparison Programme, provides laboratories with objective assessments of the accuracy and reliability of their test results. PT determines the performance of individual laboratories for specific tests or measurements and is used to monitor laboratories’ continuing performance.
KIMIA Malaysia Proficiency Testing Provider (MyKIMIA PTP) has been providing PT in Malaysia since 2006. MyKIMIA PTP has been granted an MS ISO/IEC 17043:2010 Malaysia Proficiency Testing Provider (MyPTP) accreditation on 10th October 2017 by Department of Standard Malaysia. MyKIMIA PTP provides more than 30 PT schemes in 11 fields of analysis.
Another MyKIMIA PTP’s achievement is Proficiency Testing Online System (PTOS), an online system developed by Department of Chemistry Malaysia for PT participants to register the laboratory, subscribe PT schemes every year, input results and download PT report. PTOS website was officially launched by YBhg. Datuk Haji Ismail Bin Talib on 24th October 2017.
