Innovation And Quality Management Section

This section is responsible for planning and coordinating quality assurance and innovation programmes for all Department laboratories to comply with the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 9001 standards. The tasks are: 

  • To ensure the quality of laboratory testing services are at par with international laboratories  through upgrading of capabilities and expertise in the field of laboratory quality assurance.
  • To strengthen the implementation of ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025 quality systems in all Department laboratories. 

 Quality Unit 

  • Coordinate the implementation of ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025 standards in the department
  • Accreditation of test method
  • Coordinate external audits
  • Internal audits
  • Management Review meeting
  • Quality documentation
  • Training/Seminars/Workshops
  • Consultancy services in laboratory quality management   


Innovation Unit 

  • Coordinate innovation programmes
  • Performance measurement (KPI)
  • Coordinate quality improvement programmes in line with the Government Development Administrative Circulars such as:
    o    Customer Feedback
    o    Clients Charter
    o    Customer Complaints
    o    Quality and Innovation Award
