The Environmental Health Division
provides scientific services for the
safeguarding of public health in
terms of food and drinking water
safety as well as for the protection
and conservation of the environment.

The work is carried out
by the 4 sections of the Division,
namely:

• Environment

• Water
• Biotechnology
  

The Research and Quality
Assurance Division is responsible
for:

• Undertaking research
  in method development using high end
  instrumentation
• Planning and
  coordinating all laboratory quality
  assurance activities under ISO/IEC
  17025 standard and quality
  management system under ISO 9001
  within the
  Department.
• Conducting a
  Proficiency Testing Programme (JKM
  PT) for chemical testing
  laboratories within Malaysia and
  foreign  laboratories.
• Coo
  rdinating quality improvement
  programs for the Department in line
  with the
  Government
• Development 
  Administrative Circulars such as
  clients charter, customer feedback
  and quality and innovation
  awards.
• Consultancy services
  in laboratory quality management
  system.
