This section is responsible for coordinating all activities and programs concerning the technical requirements of the Department's quality systems. This Section comprises of two units i.e. Research & Instrumentation Unit and Calibration Unit. Research & Instrumentation UnitThe main function of this unit is to enhance the capacity and capability of the testing services of the Department by: - Research in method development work as well as collaborative studies with other laboratories of the Department using state-of-the-art instrumentation such as High Performance Liquid Chromatograph Triple Quadrupole Mass Spectrometer (LC-MS/MS), Capillary Electrophoresis (CE), Gas Chromatograph-Mass Spectrometer (GC-MS) and Gas Chromatograph- Micro Electron Capture Detector (GC-µECD)
- Providing specialized analytical services using advanced scientific instruments
- Trouble-shooting analytical problems.
Calibration Unit
The main function of this unit is to plan and coordinate programs to comply with the technical requirements of ISO/IEC 17025 standard for a measurement system that ensures results of analyses are accurate and reliable. · Calibration programs for measuring equipment such as ovens, chillers, furnaces, incubators and
balances are carried out for all laboratories of the Department.
