Toxicology

The Toxicology Section offers analytical services for the detection of “poisons” in medico-legal cases, clinical toxicology and the control of pharmaceutical drugs.

 

The toxicological analysis covers the following areas:

  • Alcohol analysis in blood, urine and vitreous humour
  • Human poisoning
  • Animal poisoning
  • Heavy metal poisoning
  • Drugs in body fluids
  • Scheduled poisons

Functions and Expertise of the Toxicology Section

 

 

The Toxicology Section is divided into three main units; each handling different aspects of toxicological analysis.

 

 

Fees

Analytical services are also provided to private clinics and hospitals for a fee not exceeding RM300.00 per test/per sample.
