This section is responsible for coordinating all activities and programs concerning the technical requirements of the Department's quality systems. This Section comprises two units i.e. the Research & Instrumentation Unit and the Traceability & Calibration Unit.
Research & Instrumentation Unit
The main function of this unit is to enhance the capacity and capability of the testing services of the Department by: |
- Research in method development work as well as collaborative studies with other laboratories of the Department using state-of-the-art instrumentation such as High Performance Liquid Chromatograph Triple Quadrupole Mass Spectrometer (LC-MS/MS), Capillary Electrophoresis (CE) and Gas Chromatograph-Mass Spectrometer (GC-MS).
- Providing specialized analytical services using advanced scientific instruments.
- Trouble-shooting analytical problems

Traceability & Calibration Unit
| The main function of this unit is to plan and coordinate programs to comply with the technical requirements of ISO/IEC 17025 standard for a measurement system that ensures results of analysis are accurate and reliable; i.e by carrying out: - Proficiency Testing Programs (JKM PT)
- Calibration Programs for measuring equipments such as "Heat Enclosures" ( ovens, chillers etc. ) and balances for all laboratories of the department.
