This section is responsible for planning and coordinating quality assurance programmes for all the Department’s laboratories to comply with the requirements of ISO 9001:2000 and ISO/IEC 17025 standards.
The Department was first accredited to ISO G25 standard in 1994 which was later upgraded to ISO/ IEC 17025 in 2002. Certification to ISO 9002:1994 standard was initially obtained in 1997 which was upgraded to ISO 9001:2000 standard in 2003.
Objectives
- To ensure the quality of laboratory testing services are at par with international laboratories through upgrading of capabilities and expertise in the field of laboratory quality assurance.
- To strengthen the implementation of ISO 9001:2000 and ISO/IEC 17025 quality systems in all the Department’s laboratories.
