Official Visit Of The Director General Of The Department Of Chemistry, Malaysia On Monday, 15 December 2014

The Honourable Dato’ Ahmad Ridzuan Bin Ibrahim, Director General of the Department of Chemistry, Malaysia made an official one-day visit to the Department of Chemistry Kota Kinabalu Branch, Sabah on Monday, 15 Disember 2014.  The official visit by our Director General  is his second one in the year 2014. All the staff of the laboratory in Kota Kinabalu warmly welcomed him and looked  forward to his visit with high expectations and pride.

The objective of his official visit in Sabah was to make a courtesy call on Dato’ Abu Bakar Bin Hassan, The Sabah Federal Secretary at the Sabah Federal Secretary’s office  and attend a dialogue between our customers and department. There was another session in which our Director General held a question and answer session with the entire staff members of the Kota Kinabalu Branch laboratory.

The Honourable Dato’ Ahmad Ridzuan Bin Ibrahim was accompanied by Madam Ong Jeok Chin, Director of the Department of Chemistry, Malaysia Kota Kinabalu Branch, Sabah during the courtesy call at the Sabah Federal Secretary’s office. Madam Ku Hasnah Binti Ku Abidin, the Assistant Adminstrative Officer of the department was also present during  the event. The courtesy call lasted for one hour in the morning and was deemed very  fruitful with a few  issues discussed , one of which concerned the department’s effort to apply for a few acres of federal land to build a permanent laboratory at Tawau.

The question and answer session with the members of staff at our laboratory lasted for about two hours before lunch break and produced encouraging results. The entire members of staff were happy and satisfied with the outcome of the session.

In the afternoon, a total of twenty-seven (27) representatives from the various enforcement agencies and twenty-one (21) scientific officers attended a dialogue between our customers and department, chaired by Dato’ Ahmad Ridzuan Bin Ibrahim, the Director-General of the Department of Chemistry, Malaysia.

The customers who frequently submitted cases to our department were invited to the dialogue. They were representatives from The Royal Malaysian Police, The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission, The Department of Environment, Sabah, The Royal Customs Department,  The Sabah Federal Attorney-General’s Office, The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency, The Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperative and Consumer Affairs, The Department of Road Transport, Sabah, The Department of Health (Pharmaceutical Services Division), Sabah and Yayasan Sabah Group. 

All the clients were very impressed with the opening speech delivered by  Dato’ Ahmad Ridzuan Bin Ibrahim, the Director General of the Department of Chemistry, Malaysia concerning the functions and various scopes of the forensic and environmental scientific services provided by the Department of Chemistry Malaysia. The dialogue session which was chaired by the Director General was conducted successfully. Several issues brought up by the customers  were discussed amicably  and would be settled effectively  in the near future.  The  Director General’s official visit ended at five o-clock in the afternoon.

Kursus Pengurusan Stress Dan Mengurus Emosi Dengan Berkesan

Pada 9 hingga 12 Disember 2014, Unit Kompetensi, Pusat Latihan Kimia Malaysia telah menganjurkan Kursus Pengurusan Stress dan Mengurus Emosi Dengan Berkesan di Ibu Pejabat Jabatan Kimia Malaysia, Petaling Jaya, Selangor. Seramai 80 orang peserta dari Ibu Pejabat JKM telah menghadiri kursus ini.

Kajian perubatan menunjukkan tekanan yang dialami oleh seseorang boleh mempengaruhi tahap kesihatan mereka dan menjadi punca kepada pelbagai masalah kesihatan seperti sakit kepala yang serius, rencatan otak, jangkitan kulit, lemah sistem ketahanan badan dan pelbagai lagi penyakit yang berkaitan. Ianya juga boleh menyebabkan komplikasi kepada ibu dan bayi dalam kandungan.

Mengikut kajian Psikologi Organisasi, tekanan diri dan kerja yang tidak dikawal serta diurus dengan baik boleh menyebabkan banyak masalah prestasi dan pencapaian kerja pekerja dan kesan negatif kepada produktiviti syarikat. Oleh itu,  latihan berkaitan pengurusan tekanan (stress) dan pengukuhan kawalan emosi diri amat penting untuk mengelakkan masalah-masalah seperti di atas dialami oleh individu dan menjejaskan pencapaian organisasi mereka

Kursus yang dianjurkan ini menekankan kepada peningkatan kompetensi pengawalan emosi dan penguasaan kemahiran dalam menghadapi tekanan yang dialami oleh individu serta pengukuhan kekuatan dalaman diri dalam berhadapan dengan kesukaran dan konflik dalam kerjaya dan kehidupan seharian. Dalam kursus ini juga, para peserta didedahkan dengan pengisian penting untuk mengatasi segala cabaran dalam hidup. Diharapkan kursus ini dapat membantu para peserta dalam menghadapi cabaran emosi dengan berkesan

Kursus ini telah dikendalikan oleh penceramah yang berpengalaman iaitu Dr. Mohammad Aziz Shah Bin Mohamed Arip, pengasas modul Neuro Linguistik Programming – Emotion Spiritual Transformation (NLP-EST). Beliau merupakan Profesor Madya di Jabatan Psikologi dan Kaunseling, FPPM, UPSI. Merupakan kaunselor Profesional dan berdaftar di bawah Akta Kaunselor 1998 (Akta 580), Keahlian PSIMA (Persatuan Psikologi Malaysia) dan lain-lain.

Pada 8 hingga 10 Disember 2014, Unit Kompetensi, Pusat Latihan Kimia Malaysia telah menganjurkan Kursus Kecemerlangan Penyeliaan di Hotel Seri Costa, Melaka. Seramai 40 orang peserta dari Kimia Malaysia di seluruh negara telah menghadiri kursus ini.

Kursus ini telah dikendalikan oleh penceramah yang berpengalaman iaitu Encik Mohsen bin Amdan daripada Syarikat Human Performance Improvement Consultant yang berpengalaman mengendalikan kursus-kursus untuk pelbagai jabatan kerajaan dan swasta. Antaranya ialah Akademi Imigresen Malaysia, Jabatan Kerja Raya, TNB, UPSI, Majlis Perbandaran Subang Jaya, Yayasan Pelajaran MARA dan lain-lain.

Kemahiran untuk menyelia kakitangan dan pasukan amat penting sebagai pegawai atau eksekutif di organisasi.Kemampuan penyeliaan dan penguasaan pengetahuan yang mantap berkaitan Psikologi manusia sangat penting untuk memastikan visi dan misi oarganisasi dapat dicapai dan pengurusan operasi organisasi dapat berjalan dengan baik. Oleh itu, barisan jentera pentadbiran di setiap organisasi perlu melalui latihan seperti ini untuk memastikan pengurusan organisasi berjalan dengan mantap dan memenuhi kehendak stakeholdersdan keperluan pelanggan.

Di akhir kursus ini, kompetensi berikut akan dapat ditingkatkan:

  • Pemahaman tentang peranan dan tugasan sebagai ketua yang bertanggung-jawab untuk menyelia kakitangan bawahandan pasukan kerja serta menjaga hubungan dengan pihak atasan 
  • Kemahiran untuk menyelia operasi, mengurus kakitangan yang terdiri dari pelbagai generasi di dalam jabatan mereka dan meningkatkan kualiti perkhidmatan kepada pelanggan
  • Kemahiran peserta untuk memimpin, mendidik, memotivasi dan menegur kakitangan dan pasukanbagi memastikan pencapaianoptima matlamat organisasi dan sasaran kerja mereka
  • Kemahiran berkomunikasi dengan berkesan, memantau prestasi kerja mereka dengan berkesan dan mendorong perkembangan kerjaya mereka dengan positif

Kursus Teambuiding ‘Vibrant Workforce Pemangkin Organisasi’

Pada 8 sehingga 10 Disember 2014, Kursus Teambuilding ‘Vibrant Workforce Pemangkin Organisasi’ Jabatan KImia Malaysia Zon Utara telah diadakan di Chalet Air Panas, Pengkalan Hulu, Perak. Seramai 65 peserta dari Kimia Malaysia Cawangan-Cawangan Pulau Pinang, Kedah dan Perak telah menghadiri kursus ini.

Kursus ini diadakan dengan objektif yang amat jelas, antara objektifnya ialah untuk membina semangat kerja berpasukan di kalangan warga kerja Jabatan Kimia Malaysia  dan menjuruskan kepada pembangunan kakitangan dan organisasi serta untuk merapatkan hubungan dan komunikasi antara anggota kerja dari pelbagai peringkat dan lapisan seterusnya menjana tenaga kerja yang ceria dan bertenaga (“Vibrant Workforce”).

Jabatan Kimia Malaysia Cawangan Pulau Pinang selaku pihak penganjur kursus ini ingin merakamkan setinggi-tinggi penghargaan atas kesudian Ybhg Dato’ Ahmad Ridzuan Bin Ibrahim, Ketua Pengarah Jabatan Kimia Malaysia kerana telah hadir ke Majlis Perasmian dan jutaan terima kasih kepada Pengarah Bahagian Khidmat Pengurusan kerana sudi merasmikan majlis penutupan serta sudi menyampaikan sijil kepada para peserta kursus ini. Tahniah kepada En Zaini bin Abd Rahman, Pengarah Kimia Malaysia, Cawangan Pulau Pinang dan urusetia di atas kejayaan menganjurkan Kursus Teambuilding ‘Vibrant Workforce Pemangkin Organisasi’ Jabatan KImia Malaysia Zon Utara ini.
