Pada 14 – 15 November 2014 yang lepas, Jabatan Kimia Malaysia Ibu Pejabat telah dengan jayanya menganjurkan Program Kimia Ke Desa di Kampung Setia, Kuang Selangor. Program yang telah dirasmikan oleh YBrs. Dr. Zulkifli Mohamed Hashim, Timbalan Ketua Setiausaha (Sains) Kementerian Sains, Teknologi dan Inovasi (MOSTI) inibertujuan untuk untuk memupuk minat dalam sains, teknologi dan inovasi khususnya sains kimia di kalangan masyarakat desa, terutama golongan belia dan pelajar, mendedahkan kepada masyarakat tentang peranan dan fungsi Jabatan Kimia Malaysia dalam penguatkuasaan undang-undang dan kesejahteraan rakyat dan untuk mengeratkan hubungan mesra dan silaturrahim antara kakitangan Kimia (penjawat awam) dengan masyarakat desa.

Ianya juga dapat memberi peluang kepada pelbagai pihak untuk berinteraksi, berkenalan dan mengeratkan lagi hubungan selaras dengan saranan penjawat awam ‘turun padang’ dan mendekati masyarakat. Banyak aturcara yang telah dijalankan sepanjang tempoh program tersebut berlangsung antaranya pameran interaktif, Ikon Kimia, wacana ilmu, gotong royong, senamrobik dan banyak lagi

Program Kreativiti & SCIENCE4U Di SMK Sook Keningau

Jabatan Kimia Malaysia, Cawangan Kota Kinabalu, Sabah telah menyertai pameran di Program Kreativiti & Science4U yang dianjurkan oleh Kementerian Sains, Teknologi dan Inovasi (MOSTI) di SMK Sook, Keningau, Sabah pada 15 dan 16 November 2014. Program ini telah dirasmikan oleh Y. Bhg. Dato’ Dr. Mohd Azhar bin Haji Yahaya, Timbalan Ketua Setiausaha (Dasar), Kementerian Sains, Teknologi & Inovasi (MOSTI pada 15 November (Sabtu) 2014.

Encik Ephraim Bin John telah mewakili Jabatan Kimia Malaysia, Cawangan Kota Kinabalu, sebagai peserta pameran pada kali ini.  Pameran Kreativiti & Science4U ini bermula pada jam 8.00 pagi 15 November 2014. Agensi-agensi lain yang menyertai pameran pada kali ini adalah seperti Agensi Nuklear Malaysia, Pusat Sains Negara, Angkasa Malaysia, Agensi Remote Sensing Malaysia, Jabatan Meteorologi, Planetarium Negara, National Institutes of Biotechnology Malaysia, Cybersecurity Malaysia dan Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia turut mengambil bahagian dalam program ini.

Pelawat yang menghadiri Pameran Kreativiti & Science4U ini adalah terdiri daripada pelajar dan guru-guru dari SMK Sook, SMK Apin-Apin, SMK Gunsanad II, SMK Tulid, SM Ken Hwa, SMK Bingkor, SM Chung Hwa,  SK Sook, SK Ambual, SK Merampong, ibu bapa dan juga orang awam.

Pameran yang disediakan oleh Jabatan Kimia Malaysia, Cawangan Kota Kinabalu adalah demonstrasi pemeriksaan kesan darah menggunakan kaedah analisis Kastle-Meyer. Para pelawat diberi penerangan tentang pemeriksaan kesan darah kering dengan lebih jelas lagi pada pameran ini. Demonstrasi ini telah mendapat sambutan yang sangat baik daripada para pengunjung. Mereka menunjukkan minat yang mendalam dalam bidang sains forensik terutamanya kepada pelajar sekolah menengah yang mengambil subjek aliran sains.

Selain itu, pameran poster-poster yang menerangkan fungsi-fungsi di Jabatan Kimia Malaysia dan setiap seksyen di Jabatan Kimia Malaysia, Cawangan Kota Kinabalu telah disediakan. Encik Ephraim juga telah memberikan ceramah pengenalan Jabatan Kimia Malaysia Kota Kinabalu dan fungsi-fungsi di setiap bahagian kepada para pelajar di Dewan SMK Sook pada jam 10.00 pagi 16 November 2014.

Program Kreativiti dan Science4U ini telah tamat pada jam 2.00 petang 16 November (Ahad) 2014. Pameran daripada Jabatan Kimia Malaysia, Cawangan Kota Kinabalu ini telah berjaya menarik perhatian seramai 159 pengunjung.

Hari Inovasi 2014 Jabatan Kimia Malaysia Cawangan Kedah

Pada 12 November 2014, Jabatan Kimia Malaysia Cawangan Kedah telah menganjurkan Hari Inovasi 2014. Program ini telah dirasmikan oleh Pengarah Jabatan Kimia Malaysia Cawangan Kedah, Dr.Abdul  Rahim Bin Ahmad.Pelbagai aktiviti telah dirancang bagi menggarap kreativiti dan membudayakan inovasi di kalangan kakitangan Kimia Kedah sempena sambutan ini. Antaranya ialah ceramah “Pemikiran Kreatif & Inovatif” yang telah disampaikan oleh penceramah INTAN WILAYAH UTARA (INTURA). Kandungan ceramah ini  tertumpu kepada penerapan budaya inovasi dalam meningkatkan produktiviti di tempat kerja.

Aktiviti sebelah pagi diteruskan dengan Slot Innogames .Sebanyak 5 permainan berkumpulan telah dilaksanakan iaitu permainan “Think Without Box”, “Steel Twin Tower”, “Bola-Bola Api”, “ Telur diHujung Tanduk” dan “Ramalanku Benar Belaka”. Kesemua permainan ini direka bagi membina daya kreativiti dikalangan kakitangan selain mengukuhkan hubungan kerjasama antara ahli kumpulan. Slot Innogames disambung pada sebelah petang iaitu “Modelo Criativo dimana setiap kumpulan diberikan sejumlah straw plastik bagi membina sebuah model yang mempunyai ciri-ciri inovasi. Penilaian telah dibuat oleh juri-juri yang dilantik oleh JK Pelaksana. Program Hari Inovasi 2014 ini telah diakhiri dengan ucapan penutup oleh Pengarah, penyampaian hadiah kepada pemenang-pemenang dan penyerahan sijil-sijil penghargaan kepada kakitangan terlibat.

Secara keseluruhannya, program Hari Inovasi ini telah berjaya menarik minat dan penyertaan semua warga Kimia Kedah. Reaksi yang positif  telah dipamerkan oleh kakitangan sepanjang aktiviti berkumpulan dijalankan dan semua kakitangan amat berpuas hati dengan penganjuran Hari Inovasi kali ini. Diharap hasil idea kreatif dan inovatif yang dijana sepanjang sambutan Hari Inovasi bukan sahaja dapat meningkatkan produktiviti kakitangan malah dapat memberi impak kepada jabatan keseluruhannya.

The Official Visit Of Deputy Minister Of MOSTI To Department Of Chemistry Perak Branch Laboratory (JKMC PERAK) And Officiating Of KIMIA Perak Innovation Day 2014

IPOH, 13 November 2014 The official visit of Deputy Minister of MOSTI Datuk Dr. Abu Bakar bin Mohamad Diah accompanied by Dato’ Dr. Mohd Azhar bin Hj. Yahaya, Deputy Secretary General (Policy) of MOSTI, were greeted by Dato’ Ahmad Ridzuan bin Ibrahim, Director General of Kimia Malaysia, Mr. Ahmad Nazri bin Husain, Director of Perak Branch Laboratory and all staffs.

The main agenda of the visit was to meet and greet the staffs of JKMC Perak and to get to know the roles of Department of Chemistry. In conjunction with the visit, the JKMC Perak took the opportunity to hold ‘Kimia Perak Innovation Day 2014’ which was then inaugurated by the Deputy Minister of MOSTI.

The ceremony was initiated with the singing of 3 songs; Negaraku, Perkhidmatan Awam and Kimia Malaysia by all attendees and followed by another two songs; Malaysia Inovatif and Peneraju Inovasi; sang by the JKMC Perak ‘Great Voices’ choir group. The ceremony continued with a prayer recite by Mr. Mohd Faizal bin Zanudin.

Mr. Ahmad Nazri gave a brief introduction about Kimia Perak to the honourable guests and attendees. This was followed with the speech given by Dato’ Ahmad Ridzuan. In his speech, he congratulated the staffs of JKMC Perak as able to make a thorough preparation to receive the official visit of Deputy Minister of MOSTI within the short time.

The programme continued with the officiating speech by Datuk Dr. Abu Bakar bin Mohamad Diah. He thanked the staffs of JKMC Perak as deign to receive his visit to the laboratory. As an organization under the MOSTI, he praised the commitment shown by staffs of Department of Chemistry in carrying out their duties. He also hoped that this good performance will be maintained forever. He further congratulated Dato’ Ahmad Ridzuan who had been awarded with the medal of Darjah Kebesaran Setia Mahkota Kelantan Yang Amat Terbilang [D.P.S.K] in conjunction with the birthday of Sultan of Kelantan Sultan Muhammad V on 11th November 2014.

Upon the opening ceremony, a video presentation of Kimia Perak innovation was played to the audience. This year, the organising committee received four nominees for innovative projects from JKMC Perak staffs. The Deputy Minister of MOSTI was been brought to visit the innovative project exhibition. He was impressed with the  creativity and innovative ideas of the participants’.

The crowd were further delighted by the release of 18 carp fishes into ‘Kolam Inspirasi’ by the three honoured guests and followed by a memorable photography session with the staffs of JKMC Perak.

Following the photography session, the Deputy Minister of MOSTI and other guests of honour were taken for a site visit to the laboratories in JKMC Perak. They were briefed about the functions and roles of each section. He expressed his admiration with the existing expertise provided by this department and hoping the contribution and role of the Department of Chemistry can be highlighted to the general public. This official visit ended with a luncheon with JKMC staffs
