Program Tanggungjawab Sosial Korporat (CSR) Kimia Malaysia Cawangan Sibu 2014

Pada 18 Jun 2014 (Rabu) telah berlangsung Program Sehari Bersama JKM Sibu  yang merupakan Program Tanggungjawab Sosial Korporat (CSR) Kimia Malaysia cawangan Sibu 2014 yang diadakan di Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Agama Sibu, Sibu, Sarawak. Bertemakan Kimia ke Sekolahprogram sehari tersebut disertai oleh 21 orang kakitangan pelbagai gred. Penganjuran Program CSR pada kali ini adalah bertujuan:

  • Berkongsi maklumat antara JKM Cawangan Sibu dengan sekolah terpilih melalui ceramah kesedaran dan pameran mengenai bahaya dadah dan keselamatan makanan.
  • Memperkenalkan peranan Jabatan Kimia sebagai agensi teknikal yang menjalankan analisis kimia di mana ia perlu didedahkan kepada masyarakat terutamanya pelajar sekolah dan warga pendidik.
  • Memberi peluang kepada warga kimia untuk menyelami serta memahami keadaan di dalam sekolah disamping memberi peluang kepada mereka untuk memberi khidmat bakti kepada masyarakat.

Meskipun tempoh aktiviti projek ini amat singkat, namun ianya telah menjadi titik tolak terhadap kesedaran berterusan terhadap kepentingan Jabatan Kimia Malaysia dan memupuk semangat penting memberikan maklumat tepat dan benar tentang bahan kimia yang digunakan secara sedar atau tidak  kepada warga sekolah, disamping memupuk semangat kemasyarakatan antara warga kimia sendiri dan orang awam. Projek seumpama ini pastinya telah membawa para peserta lebih hampir kepada alam sekitar, dan kepentingan kimia dalam seharian hidup kita.

Program tersebut juga mendapat kerjasama dari rakan-rakan strategik lain seperti Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Agama Sibudan Kementerian Sains, Teknologi dan Inovasi (MOSTI)

Dialogue Sessions Between Director General of Chemistry, Malaysia With Clients and With Staff at Department of Chemistry, Melaka Branch

On 27th Jun 2014 the Director General of Chemistry, Mr. Ahmad Ridzuan Bin Ibrahim made his 2014 official visit to the Department of Chemistry, Melaka Branch, and chaired two dialogue sessions : one with the clients in the morning, and the other with staff of the branch in the afternoon.

The Dialogue Session with Clients was attended by fifty clients representing various ministries and agencies in Johore, Melaka and Negeri Sembilan.Issues highlighted were reviewed, discussed and given first-hand input / reply by the Director General himself, as a show of the high commitment of Chemistry Malaysia to its clients.

In the afternoon, a brief dialogue session with staff was successfully carried out as planned, ending with a group photo session with the Director General.

In between the dialogue sessions, the Director General made a tour of the compound and was given a briefing on the security aspect, as well as the go-green programmes being undertaken at the Melaka branch.

KIMIA MALAYSIA OPEN DAY 2014

Jabatan Kimia Malaysia’s Open Day 2014 was held at its Headquarters in Petaling Jaya, Selangor on 24 June 2014, from 9am to 5pm with the theme “fun @ kimia malaysia”. This event attracted many visitors from government and private agencies, colleges and secondary schools as well as the public. Include among the visitors was a group of MOSTI PUSPANITA members led by its President and Vice President

This Open Day showcased Kimia’s functions and services by introducing its new areas of work and the latest technologies used to its customers and the public. At the same time, it gives an opportunity for clients and public to seek explanation and information on the services provided.

The visitors were given the opportunity to learn more about Kimia’s analytical services through posters, publications and exhibits that were showcased. Interactive exhibits were set up by the Forensic Division (comprising of Criminalistic Section, Document Examination Section, Forensic DNA Section and Narcotic Section), the Industry and Trade Tariff Classification Division (IKTD), the Research and Quality Assurance Division (PJK), as well as the Environmental Health Division (KAS, comprising of Environment Section, Water Section, Food Section and Biotechnology Section). Apart from these, other interesting and fun activities such as puzzles, crosswords, word search, IQ tests, matching games, interactive computer games, videos, Kimia’s service function models, science models and fun chemistry experiment demonstrations were carried out.

The “Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) Treasure Hunt” activity designed by the Forensic Division received overwhelming responses from the secondary school students. They had to solve a crime after performing a series of forensic tests on evidences gathered from a staged crime scene

Laporan Bengkel “Information Security Management System” (ISMS) Jabatan Kimia Malaysia

Satu Bengkel “Information Security Management System” (ISMS) telah dianjurkan oleh Unit Teknologi Maklumat pada 3 hingga 5 Jun 2014 yang lepas.  Bengkel selama tiga (3) tersebut telah diadakan bertempat di Bilik Seminar, Aras 2 Bangunan Persekutuan.  Seramai 21 pegawai telah dipilih bagi mengikuti bengkel ini.

Objektif utama bengkel ini diadakan adalah bagi menyemak dan mengemaskini dokumen-dokumen yang berkaitan dengan ISMS jabatan.  Bengkel ini telah dilaksanakan melalui sesi ceramah dan perbincangan dalam kumpulan.  Seorang penceramah yang juga fasilitator iaitu Puan Nur Hidayah binti Abdullah, Pegawai Teknologi Maklumat daripada MAMPU telah dijemput sepanjang bengkel ini bagi membantu peserta dalam mendokumentasikan dokumen ISMS jabatan.

Majlis Penutupan Bengkel ISMS telah dirasmikan oleh Tuan Ahmad Ridzuan bin Ibrahim, Ketua Pengarah Jabatan Kimia Malaysia. Di akhir ucapan penutupan, beliau sangat berharap jabatan memperolehi pensijilan ISMS pada akhir tahun ini.
