This section is responsible for planning and coordinating quality assurance and innovation programmes for all Department laboratories to comply with the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 9001 standards. The tasks are: · To ensure the quality of laboratory testing services are at par with international laboratories through upgrading of capabilities and expertise in the field of laboratory quality assurance. · To strengthen the implementation of ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025 quality systems in all Department laboratories. Department Quality Unit · Coordinate the implementation of ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025 standards in the department. · Accreditation of test methods · Coordinate external audits · Internal audits · Management Review meeting · Quality documentation · Training/Seminars/Workshops · Consultancy services in laboratory quality management
Department Innovation Unit · Coordinate innovation programmes · Performance measurement (KPI) · Coordinate quality improvement programmes in line with the Government Development Administrative Circulars such as: o Customer Feedback o Clients Charter o Customer Complaints o Quality and Innovation Award
